Analytics not showing all 'Source / Medium' URL's

Hi

We run an e-commerce website on which we realized the Google Analytics Universal script with cross-domain support.

We setup cross-domain support according to "https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1034342?hl=en".

However my Analytics account does not show all 'Source / Medium' URL's involved in the process from the beginning to the end (checkout).

Looks like that just those URL's are shown in 'Source / Medium', which last called the checkout page, websites involved earlier in the process are not shown.

What else is needed?

Andreas

Hi,

You need to add the domains you are cross tracking to the referral exclusion list in order to maintain the original referrer. Admin -> Property -> Tracking Info -> Referral Exclusion List.

Let me know if you have questions.

Hi

We are missing the following 'Source / Medium' URL's in GA:
- google / organic
- google /cpc
- tripadvisor / referral
- <some other domain> / referral

Do we need to add those domains to the Referral Exclusion List as well?
I am not sure which domains to add and which domains not to add ....

Hi,

You need to add your domains, where you have the tracking code installed.

Hi

That's what we did.
Do we also need to add the Google AdWords Conversion-Tracking-Code in our e-commece website? Right now we did not! We only have the Google Analytics Universal script with cross-domain support installed and we think that this is sufficient.

Hi,

If you are running AdWords campaigns and you want to track conversions in AdWords you need to put the AdWords conversion tracking code to your checkout success page.

Hi

Thank you for your reply.
We did not add the AdWords conversion tracking code, but we linked the AdWords and the Google Analytics accounts.
And we think that this is sufficient because we can see the Adwords campaigns in the Analytics account.
Do you agree?

Hi,

I agree, you can read more about the two methods here:
