Adwards Data (Cost/Clicks/CPC) of specific Hour range in Analytics

Hello all,

I am looking at Adwords data report of specific hours range in Google Analytics. When I select Hour as secondary dimension in Campaigns report, it shows all 'Clicks', 'Cost', 'CPC' as 0. Means I can't see any adgroup or Keyword's cost/clicks/CPC on any specific HOUR.

Same problem occurs when I use 'Conditions' Segment to see cost/clicks/CPC report of Hours. And, 'Hour of Day' report doesn't show these data that I am looking for.

Or any alternative method to see this report in Analytics or Awords?

Hey Udit,

AdWords Cost data is simply copy pasted into Analytics and so isn't compatible with certain segments in Analytics.

I'd suggest importing Analytics metrics into AdWords and then checking the AdWords reports.https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2617364?hl=en

You can also look at the AdWords Hour of Day Report, for the same data: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1247859?hl=en

Thank you Arjun for your reply,

As your suggested link, I can't see any 'Google Analytics' metrics under modify columns. Auto-tagging is enabled and GA-Adwords accounts are linked. But still there is no option to import GA metrics in adwords.

In Adwords, I can use 'Hours of Day' segment at 'Campaign and Ad group' level only, under Segemnt>Time>Hour of Day. But then what to do if I want to see Ad group reports of hour range 11AM to 5PM only?

Adwords Hour of day data in GA doesn't show these metrics (clicks/cost/CPC).

To import Analytics Metrics, you need to follow this article: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1704341
Here's the important bits:
1) Sign in to your AdWords account.
2) Click the gear menu at the top right corner, then select Linked accounts.
3) Under "Google Analytics," click View details. You'll see a list of Google Analytics properties to which you have access.
4) Click on the "edit" button under the property you want to import data from. You should see the "Link" options "ON" in front of the linked views, you'll also need to turn the "Import Site Metrics" option "ON".
Choose one view from which to import site engagement metrics. While this is optional, we recommend choosing one view that will be used to show site engagement metrics in the Google Analytics reporting columns of your account.

For the AdWords Hour of Day report, you can't filter for specific hours currently. If you're sure you only want to see those hours, you can always export the data to a google spreadsheet and further filter it there.

You're right, my bad. Is there any specific reason, you're making this exact comparison? I can understand that you'd want to see the quality of traffic on an hourly basis, but are you looking to do a cost analysis on the same report?

One way to get the data you're looking for on one page is to "Add To dashboard" for both reports and look at them from there.
