AdWords data shows 0 as soon as I select a segment

Hi,

I've created a custom report showing my AdWords data on campaign level (both cost and revenue), using a filter Source/ Medium = google / cpc. This works fine. But as soon as I select a segment (e.g. all vs. campaign xy), all the click and cost data coming from AdWords shows 0, analytics data (sessions, transactions, revenue) works fine.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Andreas

Hi Andreas,

Don't worry - you aren't doing anything wrong. It's just that AdWords data comes in as a separate chunk of data in Analytics - so most of time, you can't segment that data (for example AdWords cost) any further because it's external data. If you remove CPC or cost (or any other AdWords data) from your custom-report metrics, including segments should work without problem.

That's a pity. It would be very helpful to use segmentation views in order to quickly analyse our SEA campaigns ...
