question about sale tracking

This is what I wish to track:

Customer clicks a banner (y) from a website I don't own and visits my site (A) and receives a newsletter.

He opens email and visits my other site (B) and buy product.

When I look at my stats can I know this customer came from banner (y)?

I'm just curious to know if this is possible or not cause I'm considering a paid tool that can do that.

Hi Jack,

You can setup utm parameters within the banner url [] and add same parameters to email link. On basis of these parameters you can track where user is coming from. For example if campaign = “banner_abc” then he came from banner click.

hit like if this helped you
