I set up an experiment using a button click as my goal and it is not being recorded

My button code is this

<a class="BannerButtonLinkFree-lock" href="" title="Get a Police Check Now" itemprop="url" onclick="__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'link', 'click', 'police-check';">Get Checked Now!</a>

My goal settings are

Category = link
Action = click
Label = police-check
value =

I used the google tag inspector and It does not even list my onclick="__gaTracker('send', 'event', 'link', 'click', 'police-check';" code

Hi Justin,

You are using the old ga.js tracking code on your site. To set up event tracking for ga.js check this document:

I would recommend to upgrade to Universal Analytics. You can find the tracking code in Admin -> Property -> Tracking Info -> Tracking Code.

To set up event tracking for Universal Analytics please check here:

Hope this helps.
