checkout option tracking incomplete

Hi all,

we are experiencing a strange phenomenon with enhanced ecommerce.

During checkout steps 2 and 3, customers select a payment method and a shipping method, respectively. This information is stored in GA as checkout options.


In our data, we see, that there is no shipping method tracked for 7% of customers, and no payment method for 19% of customers. As this information is mandatory, this can not be true.

 

Still, I'm kinda stuck. Any ideas, in which directions I could analyze further?

Hi Arnold,
thank your for your quick reply. This is a great post from Simo that helped me a lot earlier today, unfortunately this problem that I'm having now is a different one: There is no way for a customer to complete a transaction without defining a shipping method and a payment method. Still, we do find some completed transactions WITHOUT this information. And this is weird...
