Tracking issues when using a UTM on a query string that deep links on a page

I am seeking help with a tracking issue that I think relates to the below. Would love to get my hands on any wisdom I can. If you have utm tags placed on a query string, is there a risk that when this query string deep links someone into a landing page and changes the URL from the query string to a random URL (like when a quote in a purchase path), visits using this query string will not appear in analytics if this redirect happens quickly before js can fire?
