Tracking email open rates by day of the week?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to track my email newsletter's open rates by the day of the week. So for example, I'd like to see if my emails are opened on Tuesday vs. Friday.

I'm currently using Mailchimp to send out the emails, and it's integrated w/ Google Analytics. I'm assuming there are no pre-set custom reports that track this, so what steps do I have to take?

Hi Daniel,

A) create a custom report which will use Day of the week name as a primary dimension
B) select metrics which may be useful in analysis (sessions, conversion rates, goal completions, transactions and similar)
C) Ad a filter inside the custom report which will include only your newsletter / email traffic (depends on how you tagged the email campaign - probably filter by source / medium or campaign)

Kind regards,
