Hello everyone!

I already read some article abou tracking email opens. But i still have a question. I built a URL like this:

<img src="http://www.google-analytics.com/collect?v=1&amp;tid=UA-XXXXXXXX-X&amp;cid=CLIENT_ID_NUMBER&amp;t=eve..." alt="" />

My question is, how should i definy the "cid"? I tried to use the code like i copied before, and i got some results. But i am pretty sure false results. GA said to the campaing that: 3 unique event, but 756 total event.

Could You help me please?

Best regards!

Hi @Peter S,

CID should be unique per email id. The events you are seeing is actually the total email open with same CID.(if your hit has same cid).
Mailchimp and some other tools have this facility , you can check here for detailed implementation: http://www.lunametrics.com/blog/2013/06/17/email-tracking-google-analytics/

Hope this helps,
Thanks,
