Tracking conversion Page

Hi!

I can't setup a conversion script on the website, so I'm using goals to define conversion based on destination page.

For example, here is the succession of page leading to a conversion :

1 - /checkout

2 - /receipt/ID

I defined a goal with the page URL starting with "/receipt/"
I also added a step in the funnel with the required value "/checkout"

So far everything is ok. I'm receiving conversion. But I'm receiving too much.

Even if someone is going to the page "/receipt/123" without coming from "/checkout" page the hit is flagged as a conversion.

Is there a way to setup a conversion based on succession of 2 or more page ? I do not want the hit to be flagged as conversion if user access receipt page only.

Yes there is a solution:
if you have a look it should say 'required step' you can tick that for the first step meaning you have to have done that step AND the next step for the goal to trigger.
have a look and if not clear let me know.

Yes, I checked this box that's why I found it weird...

When I'm in "Reverse Goal Path", I select my goal as "Goal Option", then I see
Goal Completion Location            Goal Previous Step -1
1.  /receipt/1                                      (entrance)
2.  /receipt/2                                      /checkout

Line 1 is weird because there is nothing as previous step

are the receipt pages that are being misfired real people going back to a valid goal receipt URL?
you are using 'begins with' goal at the moment?
have you tried a regex instead?

I think this is what happen. People are going back to the receipt page from their back office.
Yes, I'm using the 'begins with' I think the regex will be the same, why it will change something ?
