Tracking Vanity URL that Redirects[ Edited ]
February 2016 - last edited February 2016
I have searched through the various posts on this subject and have read different answers so not sure what the solution is.
1. We have a WordPress website which has a URL such as: http://meetings.ourcompanyname.org/wordpress/meeting2016/
2. Then we have postcards with the following "sample" vanity URL: www.2016meeting.com and this redirects the user to the website. Our IT department buys the vanity URL and sets up the redirect.
3. We would like to be able to track the users who type in the vanity URL (www.2016meeting.com) which then redirects the user to the site.
4. Do I set it up using URL Builder and then have our IT person set up the redirect to the URL that is generated in the URL Builder? What happens when we have more than one campaign to track? Such as online ad, print ad, etc.?
Re: Tracking Vanity URL that Redirects
For http://meetings.ourcompanyname.org/wordpress/meeting2016/ , <<www.2016meeting.com>> become the referrer.
Campaign tracking parameters should be added to the landing url, actual url which user lands on.
with help of url builder.
'Star' or 'Accept as Solution' if it helped.
