Track User Events / Conversion Tracking (Need Urgent Help! Pls)

I have been using heap analytics to track my user events which made sales but now as the tool is asking me to pay them more I am looking forward to track my users in Google Analytics.

Now the trouble which I am facing while setting up the Goal is -

I can't follow the specific events or the path which user performs on my site before making sales. As in Goal section, I have to define funnel steps, and that are some pages on my site. (That apparently means if a user follows the specified pages I marked in funnel then my Goal will be counted!)

Thing what I want is -

If there is user x, who made a sale on my site then, points I want Analytics to tell are -

  1. Where did he find my site (i.e. initial referrer)?
  2. First page of my site where he landed.
  3. Now, all the pages he visited before making sales.

H anikita,
to track where you find you site you have to use url builder to insert umm param to define what is the source of you visits
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033867?hl=en
You will find this da in Acquisition -> All Traffic

Automatically Google Analytics recognize: Referral, Organic and direct sources, for the other one you need to teach it how to recognized them using url builder

You can connect google analytics to Google AdWords to take advantage of the amazing integration

The first page where the user land is the Google Analytics Landing Page dimension

In google Analytics there is not a report that show directly all the pages that user visited before do a conversion/transaction, so you have to use segment to do it.

to track all the the event you have to tag them or you can try to use this plugin

Hi Fil,

Thanks for the response. The first two options are not fit for me as I am not tracking any advertisement links plus the third and last is not giving me the accurate results I am looking for..!!
