Hi,

You'll need to set up event tracking in Google Analytics.

Here you'll find some of the guides:

1) https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1136960?hl=en

2) https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/events

Hope this helps.

Wouldn't the best way to track this is not with an event but using a datalayer push and tracking it with a virtual pageview so you could create a funnel conversion?

Sure you could also track it with the datalayer with events after to get a single report of all logins.  But I would look at having the developer setup the datalayer push method.
