So there are pageviews nested in external scripts which is causing this. There are 5 pageviews in all - 3 load when the page loads, and 2 more by the time you scroll to the bottom of the page.

One example, you have this link on your website: /min/serve?g=95b0adf5ca58bc5f2bf9be38187a4cef&lm=1462960460 which leads to http://megadepot.com/min/serve?g=95b0adf5ca58bc5f2bf9be38187a4cef&lm=1462960460 , which has a pageview ie. this code: ga('send', 'pageview'); as the second last line of code.

You'll find other such links with pageviews and each pageview command is causing the warning of web property ID tracked 2, 3, 4 or 5 times.

Hi Arjun! I modified my script file and now web property ID is properly tracked, but the bounce rate has not changed in GA. What else can affect the bounce rate? Site http://labelsandmarkers.com/

Hey Andrey,

Great to hear it! I actually went through both sites again: megadepot.com and labelsandmarkers.com and they both still have the same issue.

megadepot.com fires 3 pageviews on pageload of the home page, and fires 2 more on scrolling to the bottom of the page. 5 in all.
http://postimg.org/image/lr5q96iuj/ - scroll to the bottom to see the 5 collect tags sending 5 pageviews.

labelsandmarkers.com fires 2 pageviews on pageload of the home page, and fires 2 more on scrolling to the bottom of the page. 4 in all.
http://postimg.org/image/55dflolij/ - scroll to the bottom to see the 4 collect tags sending 4 pageviews.

What is a bounced session on GA?: Any session where total pageviews=1. Currently, on a single pageload, the count is incrementing anywhere from 2 to 5 times, so you'll almost never have the scenario where total pageviews=1. This is why it's affecting your bounce rate. Once you fix the code for sure, it'll fix the future bounce rate recorded by your account.

Cheers,
Arjun

Arjun,

On site megadepot.com we are not change script file, we decided to change the script file on the second our website labelsandmarkers.com. What we have done! We made dynamically downloadable content as separate pageviews: ga('send', 'pageview', '/new-page'); (source:https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/single-page-applications?hl... Thus we got rid of web property ID being tracked twice (you can see on labelsandmarkers.com by extension Google Tag Assistant)

1. Main page ga('send', 'pageview');

2. Slideshow ga('send', 'pageview', '/ec-promos');

3. Recently Viewed Items ga('send', 'pageview', '/ec-recently-viewed');

4,5 ...

2 to 5 automatically load page by scrolling mouse. This is on all pages. We need information about viewing each block, therefore we have done so.

You want to say, multiple pageviews on one page affect on bounce rate? but how to send in GA information about viewing each block as one pageviews?

Respectfully,

Andrey

Hi Arjun,

Please, help me! As you know on homepage we are used AJAX for load additional content (scrolling down mouse). How can I sent information in GA from AJAX content, when it not loaded?

Hey Andrey,

In order to stop affecting bounce rate, you'd need to use ga('send', 'pageview', {nonInteraction: true}); on all the pageviews that are fired on scrolling. eg.:
1. Main page ga('send', 'pageview');
2. Slideshow ga('send', 'pageview', '/ec-promos', {nonInteraction: true});
3. Recently Viewed Items ga('send', 'pageview', '/ec-recently-viewed',{nonInteraction: true});
......

You can also instead use event tracking rather than pageviews on scroll - depending on what data you want to see in the Analytics account. Once again if you want to see the true bounce rate, you'd have to use the {nonInteraction: true} parameter. You can see more info about this here: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/events#non-interaction_even...

Best,
Arjun
