Hi from freezing cold medieval York UK :-)

Ok i need to measure the drop down menu choices on this page:
www.workwithyork.co.uk but i fear my only choice is Tag Manager explained here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxRpvoCSdKg So my question is please, "Is it possible to measure users drop down choices with standard Google Analytics?"

Thanks,

David

Hi David!

I believe you can do it purely from analytics which would be creating the custom dimensions/metrics in analytics and then using a data layer coded into your site to pull the information from the form and then pushing the data from the data layer into the analytics tag which will pull that dimension back and populate the values in a custom report or dashboard.

I would recommend the use of Google Tag Manager as the process is a lot simpler and easier to manage and implement. If you need some further information on how to do this then please do reply back! Or you can have a look at this: https://developers.google.com/tag-manager/devguide
