I changed my site from http to https. I read that I need to change my url to the https version in Analytics and then reconnect Analytics with Google Search Console. Can you tell me if you agree and if so, best way to do that in Analytics? Thanks much in advance!

In case someone is looking for how to change http to https in GA, here is how to do so:

Admin > "Property" column > Property Settings > Default URL > choose the "https" drop down

Search Console and Analytics are two separate systems.

In Analytics, all you need to do is update your view settings to reflect the change from http to https but frankly it is purely cosmetic.

Thanks. Yes, I definitely know they're two separate systems. Sorry I didn't make that clear. I use both all the time.

I read to change to https in Analytics on many articles on the web. I also read it in the Google Search Console forum. You're saying you don't have to?

I was just referring to Analytics.

You will need to add another site in Search Console since Google will treat http:// and https:// as separate sites

Because you can only associate 1 Search Console account to a GA property, you'll need to decide which one you want to link.

It won't give me the option. I delete the regular www site for GA link and when I try to link it with https it will only give me the http www version. Hmmm....thoughts?
