Looking for Help - Tracking clicks on my e-mail (Google Analytics)

Hello there,

We re-launched one of our sites (www.protos.at) and there we have no contact form. We only have put our e-mail into the footer and in some content on the website. Now, I want to track how many people on the website click on my email, which automatically opens up the mail program, to send the mail. Would be awesome if you could help Smiley Happy

No, that is Goal setup.

For event tracking you need to edit the source code of the page and add an onclick event handler.

something like: http://www.lunametrics.com/blog/2013/07/02/jquery-event-tracking-generator-google-analytics/

Hi,

You just need to implement event tracking: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/events

Call the function on link click as: ga('send', 'event', 'Email', 'click');

Best Regards,
GA Guru.

'Star' or 'Accept as Solution' if it helped.

Hello GA Guru,

thanks for the fast answer. The form to start event-tracking looks like this:

Therefore, can you tell me the right order for send, event, email, click?

Therefore, it is impossible to use the goal setup for tracking the email activities?
