Issues with goal funnels and funnel visualisation

HI,

I'm trying to set up a conversion funnel for my site, I have dynamic pages and want to load these as steps but I am not getting the correct information I need

The idea is to see how many people go through category pages to product pages and then complete a transaction

I want to see the funnel with multiple pages in each step, how can I do this?

URL are for example:

Would like to start with all traffic

then

Product Category:

/en/womens-clothing/jeans/

/en/womens-clothing/blouses-and-shirts/

Then to product detail page:

/en/womens-clothing/blouses-and-shirts/keyhole-blouse_t-1r6357s0v1

/en/womens-clothing/jeans/skinny-jeans-with-raw-hem_t-1r6385s0v1

I need the red text to be wildcard, only consistent factor in the product pages is the last 4 digits.

I tried the following but it does not give me any workable results, can anyone explain to me what I am doing wrong?

Any help would be apppreciated...

Regards

Ben

Hi Ben,

How do you mean "I want to see the funnel with multiple pages in each step, how can I do this?"

The funnel visualization report will show you the percentage of users who continued to the next step (with the names you defined), the drop outs, and the final funnel conversion rate at the bottom. It won't show the pages involved in each step.

Also the way you set up your first step will break your entire funnel, it matches all the subsequent steps, including the goal destination page and you will see everyone leaving after the first step. Use ^/$ for the "Home" step.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have questions.

Hi Arnold,

I essentially want to define page levels as steps, so that I can see how many customers go from Homepage -> Gender pages (women in this case) -> Category pages within the Gender and finally to the product page of an individual item..

So for instance I need my expressions to match both cases below:

/en/womens-clothing/

/en/womens-clothing/pants-shorts-jeans/

/en/womens-clothing/pants-shorts-jeans/pleated-slim-fit-pants_t-1r6519s0v1

/en/womens-clothing/

/en/womens-clothing/coats-jackets/

/en/womens-clothing/coats-jackets/classic-parka_t-1r6426s0v1

Not interested in this particular case in which category pages are involved, I can check those in other reports, but the pass through behaviour...

Regards

Ben

Hi Ben, try this:

Category: /en/womens-clothing/([a-z0-9-])+/$

Product: /en/womens-clothing/.+s0v1$

HI,

Does not seem to work i'm afraid, after the home step just shows the same number going through each step in the visualisation.

Ben

Hi Ben,

Did you change the regex to ^/$ for the "Home" step as per my initial post?
