Hi,

I want to track when a user comes to my www.example.com site, and clicks signup (from any page) --
www.example.com/* and goes to sign up page which is actually a sub domain https://abc.example.com/accounts/register/

I
 have following Google Analytics code:

www.example.com  has UA-57528737-2

Sub domain abc.example.com has UA-57528737-3

Do i need to implement same code on main domain and sub domain?

How can i setup the goal which i want? Please advise. Thanks

Need to use the same the same property ID. I would say switch your subdomain to use UA-57528737-2. You also need to ensure you have cross-domain tracking setup so when visitors go to the new subdomain their information carries over (like acquisition info). Once you have that setup you would setup a goal like usual since traffic from both the regular domain and subdomain will be showing under the same property/views.

Hi Surendra,

You need to track both the main domain and the subdomain in the same property (UA-57528737-2) to get the goal tracked in UA-57528737-2. You need to implement the same code on main domain and sub domain. Let me know if you have any more questions.

The 2 links I gave in my previous post show how to do it. Without knowing know about your site and what you want to track as a goal it's hard to say. Those links will guide you through it though.

You don't need cross domain tracking for the subdomain in Universal Analytics.
You need to set up your goal like this: https://i.imgur.com/HUMQTNL.png
Hope this helps.
