Google tracking code question

Currently, we have a G/a tracking code setup on our website, however, we also have a woo commerce site (which is a subdomain) built into our existing website which requires tracking too. Hope that makes sense?

Could someone please share best practice when it comes to adding G/a tracking to this subdomain (woo commerce site)?

Furthermore, is there also a protocol in enable the e-commerce settings?

Thank you.

Hi @Simon K :-)
is the subdomain that has woocommerce a wordpress site?

If so, then you may want to look at one of the freely available plugins for integrating analytics with woocommerce

https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-google-analytics-integration/

or
https://wordpress.org/plugins/enhanced-e-commerce-for-woocommerce-store/

Keep in mind if you are using a payment gateway such as paypal and returning ppl to the site,

you will need to add this to the referral exclusion list.
Others may require setup of cross domain tracking between the subdomain and the site that controls

payments

To track just between the domain and its subdomain (woocommerce install) then as @Vaibhav R mentions, that will likely need a subdomain setup.

Hi @Simon K,

WooCommerce is a module of WordPress only. The best plugin for WooCommerce analytics is

Google Analytics Dashboard for WP

You can use this plugin to implement Google Analytics tracking in your WooCommerce store.

You can follow this guide for step by step installation of Google Analytics Dashboard plugin on your woocommerce store.

https://om4.com.au/google-analytics-ecommerce-tracking-woocommerce/

Additionally, This plugin will help you enable the e-commerce settings as well.

Hope this helps. Smiley Happy
