Google Tag Manager and Original/Initial Referrer Tracking

We have a load balanced website that is using rules to rewrite incoming requests for a no longer existing website to its our new address.  This redirect is showing up in Fiddler as a 302 and 301 redirect.

We have the Google Tag Manager script installed on every page for the website.

How do we track the original URL that is being used to access our website using GA?  Do we need to add the Google Analytics Object code to every page in conjunction with the GTM code?  Can this be configured through Google Analytics without modifying the code on every page?  Are there any other options?

Hi Torrey,

if you push GA via GTM then both GTM has to be present on all page and GA needs to be triggered on all pages. The referrer info will usually be preserved with 301 redirect.
