Google Analytics on two domains

I have a home page on a domain:  www.example.com and then my landing pages, sign up forms, and buy/purchase pages on a separate domain:  www.exampleproducts.com.  My PPC manager is telling me that if I place the tracking code on both domains that the data will be wrong, and I will not be able to track sign ups, purchases, etc on the other domain: www.exampleproducts.com.  I want to track the sales funnel from the landing page on www.example.com to exampleproducts.com.  Some of the landing pages are also on www.exampleproducts.com.  Do I place the same Google Analytics code on all pages of both www.example.com and www.exampleproducts.com?  Why is PPC manager saying this won't work? What is the best way to proceed?

Thanks

@Michael M

It depends how you set cross domain checking
Check this

https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/cross-domain

Hire good developer and he can do this for you.

Will the data set for tracking the sales funnel be accurate that way?
