Google Analytics not logging mailto: event from tage manager

Hi All

I have setup a simple trigger to track mailto: clicks from pages of our site so we can then set that up as a goal within analytics, not ideal but all i have to play with for now. However, analytics is not logging these events even though the tag is being fired and confirmed by tag manager. Any help to resolve this would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks

Craig

Hi,

Seems like everything works properly:

1. HTTP request was sent to the endpoint (I clicked on the email address):

event 1.png

2) All the details were correct as well:

event 2.png

Open your Reporting -> Real Time -> Events -> Events (last 30 min) in Google Analytics and then go to your website and click on the email. You should see this event in your Real Time report. It takes up to 24-48 hours before you see this data in your regular reports.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,

Taavi

Yes I can now see the result in analytics. the companies IP is blacklisted against analytics to avoid inflating stats.
