Google Analytics counts non AdWords conversions as google/cpc source medium

Hi,

 

I'm having quite trouble of figuring out why is GA counting non AdWords conversions as google/cpc. When I go to Acquisition/All traffic/Channels and filter out source/medium to be google/cpc I get my transaction ID's. When I cross-reference them with my ecommerce system I can see that much of those have been made by my colleagues which don't search Google and then click and create order but work from our administration. How is this possible?

there is a possibility that your colleagues clicked on one of your ads 6 months ago and then returned as "direct" traffic.

You are right. I haven't excluded our static IP's in GA and they were tracked and measured as cpc conversions because they clicked a couple months ago on a few ads we had. Thank you very much! Smiley Happy

Hey Julien, I am having a related issue. Within Analytics, All Traffic > Source/Medium I am only seeing 109 visits listed as Google CPC however under AdWords > Campaigns I am seeing 2,154 which matches the AdWords account. I would expect to see this same number listed under Google CPC, why isn't it? Further, each ad is using a UTM code and I am not seeing the click data come through to Campaigns.
