Goal not tracking all URLs it is set up to track

Hello, I set up a goal to track a URL but it seems my goal count is much less than the unique pageviews of that URL.

I set the Destination as a "regular expression" capturing URLs including /search?

When I view All Pages, I see about 150 unique pageviews including /search?

However, my goals only show about 50 goals being completed.

I have checked the time frame and that is fine, so it isn't that.

Any ideas?

Hi Will,

In a regular expression you need to escape the "?" character like /search\?

Let me know if this helps.

The difference is because each goal is counted only once per session.
If someone open page /search?q=test1 and /search?q=test2 you have 2 unique pageviews but only 1 goal completion.

Hi Tomasz,

I have the same problem as Will. I followed your thinking by myself as well, but when I checked the unique page views for that page, it is still higher than the number of conversions for the goal.

Do you have any advice about why?

Thanks,
Gabriella
