Goal conversion not accurate...

Hi,

I setup goals to track sales, first customer bought, but it's saying 2 goal conversions. It's referring to the same person because I checked 'country' and I'm sure both 2 goal conversions are actually the same sale.

So I don't understand why.

Site has 2 major pages only. Homepage and thankyou page after they buy. Goal is setup as a 'Destination' when they land on thankyou page it's 1 goal. Could it be customer copy & pasted thankyou page in browser, will that count as a goal?

Site pages are in simple plain .html files.

Thanks

Hi,

Goals can be completed once per a session. Please check how sessions are counted in Google Analytics:

So if the user left the thankyou page open and refreshed it after 30 mins of inactivity a goal completion will be recorded again.

Hope this explains how can the same person trigger the same goal twice.
