Event Goal Not Tracking On Banner Image Click

Hi,

I can't figure out why an onClick event won't fire to GA and register as an event or goal conversion. All other areas of GA are tracking fine (destination goals, etc.) -- just not event goals.

I'm trying to track clicks on a banner image. Here's the code I'm using:

 <a href="http://thebettercleanse.com/promotions/the-lowest-isagenix-pricing-available/" onClick="ga('send', 'event', 'Read More', 'Clicked',  'More Affordable Banner');"><img src="http://thebettercleanse.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/guaranteed-lowest-pricing-banner.png"></a>

The following UA code is before </head>:

<script>
  (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
  (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
  m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
  })(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

  ga('create', 'UA-2710054-1', 'auto');
  ga('send', 'pageview');

</script>

Any help would be very much appreciated! It's driving me mad Smiley Sad

Hi, Sean M,

I noticed that you set the value of the "Value" to be 0, so your goal may be expecting a value to be sent that is greater than 0. I would leave that field blank as you are not sending anything in.

Try that out and let me know how it goes.

Hi, Sean M,

I went to that web page and clicked on the banner, and I can see the event hit, from the Dev Console, go through. Are you sure you aren't filtering out your own clicks/visits?

How is your goal configured? Can you post a screenshot?

Thanks, Nicky, but I am not filtering out my clicks. I also tried it from my mobile phone to be sure. Still no luck. Here's a screen shot of my settings. I checked for extra spaces and characters too -- none to be found. Not sure why I cannot get it to work...Thanks,

Thank you so much for this. I have been wracking my brain for a week trying to figure this out. Everything was registering under events but not in goals. My problem was "0" in the value field but I wasn't passing a value.
