Ecommerce - Sales Performance revenue is being doubled

Hi there,

 

We are using eCommerce tracking within GA and sending the revenue figures across. When we look at the sales performance page the revenue for each transaction ID appears to be doubled. Drilling down into the transaction shows the correct figure but the summary is doubling it.

 

Any idea what we are doing wrong?

ensure that either
A) the user cannot access the page more than once or
B) you have logic in place to make sure the transaction is only sent once.

Hi Ga Guru,

Thanks for your quick response. We will look into the code more closely to see if the page is being loaded twice at some point in the process. However if that is the case wouldn't it also lead to the quantity on the detail screen going up to 2? It seems strange that the value of the transaction would double on the summary screen but not the details if that was happening.

Hi Louise,

We did resolve this issue, but only this week as it happens. In our case it
seems the problem was being caused by using both the "normal" and
"enhanced" eCommerce tags on the same page. From what we could work out
both were sending the transaction across with the same ID and hence the
revenue was being doubled on some of the screens.

Whilst this still doesn't entirely make sense to me, we changed to only
using the enhanced eCommerce tags and it seems to now be working properly
for the couple of days we've had it in place.
