Difference between Conversions and Website Traffic
on our website we use conversions (with Google Tag manager) to measure outbound link to our partner's website. There is quite a difference between the number of conversions on our website and the number of sessions our partner sees on his website. e.g. yesterday we measured 234 conversions whereas he only sees 119 sessions through this link.
What could be the possible reasons for this? My explanation is that the people that click on the link leave our partner's website before Google Analytics measures it as a session. Any other ideas?
