Creating a goal for a contact page that does not change URL when activated

Hello,

I am trying to create a goal for any time someone submits a contact us page.

My issue is that --on the website-- the URL remains the same for visiting the contact page AND for when the page is finally submitted.

For example its www.page.com/contact-page for visiting and www.page.com/contact-page for when its submitted.

How can I effectively track this ??

Thanks!!

Hi,

You can send events or virtual pageviews when the form is submitted. You can fire them when the form is successfully submitted, or when the submit button is clicked. Please check the article below for more information about tracking form submissions using events.

http://divinityintech.com/form-event-tracking-google-analytics/

Once you are recording the events, you can set up an event based goal. Hope this helps, let me know if you have questions.

I don't have access to the wordpress site. This article is suggesting the webmaster needs to take care of embedding the event code. Is this corret.

Is there a way to create an event goal without having to go embed code into the back end website??

Thanks!!

Hi,

If you are using the Contact Form 7 plugin with Wordpress please check the article below about tracking for submissions as events:

https://contactform7.com/tracking-form-submissions-with-google-analytics/

If you don't have access to the site files, you'll need a plugin for inserting the code into the head tag like this:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/insert-headers-and-footers/

Let me know if this helps.
