"Use this URL in any promotional channels you want to be associated with this custom campaign"

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone had any previous experience with setting up Campaign URL Builder? If so, it would really help me if you had an idea of a step by step guide I could follow?

I've been advised to use this, but don't know how to set it up.

Thanks very much.

David

A few quick tips:

- Use the builder on https://ga-dev-tools.appspot.com/campaign-url-builder/

- Website URL is the full address of the landing page you want the link to open

- Campaign Source should describe where the link is placed - e.g. "newsletter" if placed in your newsletter or example.com if placed on a website

- Campaign Medium should describe the type of traffic, e.g. cpc, display, email - I prefer to use the standard channel definitions (find them here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/3297892?hl=en)

- Campaign Name should describe the actual campaign or promotion. I often start with a year and week number followed by a short description such as "2016w42 Fall Promotion"
