Brave Browser

I stumbled across a new browser platform called Brave  (LINK)

Pretty cool concept; basically like an adblocker on steroids; the problem is, it seems that Google analytics cannot track user when visiting my site (it appears that Brave is blocking Analytics from tracking users (Blocking 3rd parties from mining data is apparently one of the "benefits" that it's known for).

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? How will this affect us (data driven advertisers using google analytics as a main platform) in the future as Brave gains market share?

Brave is without a doubt trying to blaze some trails. It will be interesting to see how it all works out. It is also going to force https on every site which would also throw havoc on a lot of data for pages who are normally http.

My guess as with everything else if this type of blocking gains any real traction things will change and analytics etc will adapt to get around them until a new software/platform comes out. It's an endless cycle. Like when cookie blocking became so hot. But we still have sessionStorage and localStorage which gets around many of the cookie blockers.

one can still do server side tracking, or request the user to add the site into whitelist

I wonder if there is any way to track downloads and usage of this Browser?
