Are the UTM parameters passed to the next session?

I use UTM tags to share the blog posts in social media.

I have noticed in Google Analytics that some tagged sessions start with the Home page as the landing page (whereas I´ve never used tags for the Home URL).

Why is that? Are the UTM parameters passed to the next session in Google Analytics?

Thank you,

Laurent

Once a user reaches your sure, the Google Analytics cookie takes over for tracking purposes.

If the second visit is being attributed to a UTM campaign, it's because the user "directly navigated" to the website -- possible just typed your URL into they're browser.
