Analytics is not tracking ecommerce

I am using a 3rd party ecommerce platform for all of my transactions and on the "Order Summary" page, the following code appears.  Note: the code is generated automatically by their platform with product & transaction data.

(# signs represent redacted data for privacy purposes)

<script>

(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){

(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),

m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)

})(window,document,'script','//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js','ga');

ga('create','UA-########-#','auto');

ga('require','linkid','linkid.js');

ga('send','pageview');

ga('require','ecommerce','ecommerce.js');

ga('ecommerce:addTransaction', {

'id': '101',

'affiliation': 'My Store',

'revenue': '8.00',

'shipping': '0.00',

'tax': '0.00'

});

ga('ecommerce:addItem', {

'id': '101',

'name': 'Handle',

'sku': 'XYZ 123',

'category': 'Accessories',

'price': '8.00',

'quantity': '1'

});

ga('ecommerce:send');

</script>

In my analytics dashboard, I am receiving the typical user tracking data for the entire site, just not any ecommerce data.  I have the Ecommerce settings turned on, my tracking code is up to date, and naturally GA account ID matches.  I've had the code implemented for about a week now, with over 20 orders during that timeframe, but no data still.

Is there anything in the above script that is incorrect?  Or some other step I need to take in order to get the data to start flowing in properly?  I can't tell if the issue is on the ecommerce/script side or the analytics side at this point.

Cheers,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

as far as plugins go, you can just use

ga('require', 'ecommerce');

Do you register page views for the conversion page?

You said you have ecommerce turned on in view settings but do you have Enhanced commerce checked too?

Hi Kevin,

Your code seems to be working. Did you check your order confirmation page with Google Tag Assistant and/or GA debugger if it is firing properly? There might be other resources on the page that are preventing the code from sending the data to Google Analytics. Please check with the above tools and let us know what you find.

I was unaware that I needed the enhanced ecommerce option turned "on". I did that and the orders started to show up in GA shortly thereafter. Thanks Julien.

Thanks to Arnold as well - I did very my code in the Tag Assistant just to be sure. Never leave a 3rd party's code to chance!
