referrers in GA

Hello all!

I have some problem with referrers of our affiliate program.

We have unique referral codes to track every affiliate. To track everything in GA, we make script, that if url contans ?promote=N - convert it to ?utm_source=partner&utm_medium=N  (where N - referral code)

But i see that after i do it, google analytics stop to track referrals of this codes. I thought that its because replacing referral code  to source+medium, but as i see in woopra, problem not in that. Anybody has the same problems?

Link with referral code ponominalu.ru?promote=123321

Hi Александр,

Everything looks fine. UTM parameters override any referral path the browser might have used. The referral path will be (not set). That's it.

Here's the article that describes the solution that you can use: http://www.lunametrics.com/blog/2014/06/11/campaign-tracking-dynamic-source/

Hope this helps.
