google analytics- omitting yourself from the results

Hello!!!

I'm hoping someone can tell me a way to omit my own activity on my website so that it's not included in the reports section.  I'm never getting accurate data on the average time spent on my page because I myself am always on it, re-reading, editing etc.  Thanks in advance!!

Hi @Bronwyn S :-)

Best way to do this would be via an IP Exclude filter
Always keep your initial All Website Data without any filters applied.. this ensures you always have a full, unedited, raw copy of data should it be needed at any stage.

Instructions on how to create an IP Filter can be found on the following page in the
Help Docs

https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1034840?hl=en

Pls post back if you have further questions

Thanks
Bronwyn
