why do Google Analytics and google webmaster show different results.

like, google analytics show 30 users visited my website on 4 may.

but webmaster will show only 4 clicks.

why is this happening?

Hey Nick,

The fundamental issue here is that Google Analytics measures 'sessions' while AdWords and Webmaster Tools will measure 'clicks'. This is a very different way of looking at it and each has its own merit.

A person may click to visit your site several times but it will still count as a single session, unless:

1 - Inactive for 30 minutes

2 - The day ends (at midnight) and a new session will start automatically

3 - The user is sent to a page on your site via a new 'campaign' which will automatically trigger a new session.

Additionally there is the difference between 'Users' and 'Clicks', where as Users is typically Cookie based and will track multiple sessions of a single person and understand its the same guy visiting.

Here are two great articles that explain this in further detail: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1257084?hl=en
