In the behavior flow report, is it possible to add segments (like returning users, new users, mobile users, "whale" users) within the flow report to understand if:

1) any specific page is having a relatively big drop-off for new users

2) any specific page is having a relatively big drop-off for mobile users

3) any specific page is having a relatively big drop-off for whale (big spenders) users

Flow reports support only session-based segments. User-based segments are disabled for flow reports. You can apply only a single segment to a flow report.

You can add segments just create the segment you want and apply it, I suggest that you remove the All Traffic segment when you apply your custom segment otherwise it is difficult to see the newly added segment.

thanks Brian.

have tried your suggestion already.

unfortunately the segments are not added in the report visually and so you cannot answer the interesting questions.

So you have three questions you wanted to have answered.

I would first create a segment that only included "New Users" and apply it.

Next I would create a segment that only included "mobile users" remove the "New Users" and apply the "Mobile Users"

Then I would do the same for Whales.

By applying only the single segment you would be able to see how each type of user affects your particular pages and what the drop off for each would be.
