Wrong users number counted by Google Analytics Core API

Hello, everybody. I faced a problem with Google Analytics Core API.

We use it to send data to 3rd-party dashboard. And for some reason it sends weird data about users: almost twice more than sessions (which can't be possible).

I checked the variables used for sending data from Universal Analytics - it's correct.

Has anybody met such problem? And what was your solution?

Thank you in advance!

I'd suspect that the issue is a combination of dimensions and metrics which don't play nice.

This is covered in this support article here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2934985?hl=en

More explanation here: https://www.humix.be/en/blog/more-users-than-sessions-in-google-analytics/

and from this very parish here: https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Google-Analytics-Reports/More-users-than-sessions/m-p/5655...

I find that experimenting with the query explorer helps uncover this kind of wierdness. Adding a time stamp to all your hits also makes understanding easier as well.

Thank you! That's right, the problem is different level of dimensions and metrics. We'll pick another report configuration Smiley Happy
