Hello,

I have been having issues with Google Analytics reports on my website, i keep seeing reports that 90% of my traffic is coming from Russia instead of Nigeria, in fact no traffic at all from Nigeria whereas the only people visiting the site are from Nigeria including me.

My site i built with October CMS .

Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you

I guess you probably don't have Google Analytics tracking code on your website and the only traffic you are seeing in your Google Analytics is a ghost spam.

Hi Mayowa,

As Thomas mentioned, if this portion is in the 90% range then you likely don't have any analytics on your page or you have no one visiting your site yet. You can trouble shoot your code by visiting:

Ghostery : https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ghostery/mlomiejdfkolichcflejclcbmpeaniij
Tag Assistant: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tag-assistant-by-google/kejbdjndbnbjgmefkgdddjlbokphdefk
Analytics DeBugger: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-analytics-debugger/jnkmfdileelhofjcijamephohjechhna

Your best advice would be to use one of the options at https://plus.google.com/+StephaneHamel-immeria/posts/WXdZAEe9Qb5 to completely remove the spam in addition to a hostname filter to remove spam located under Audience > Technology > Network > Hostname Tab.

If there is any left over Russian visits you do not want then I suggest blocking Russia from visiting your site all together (not just your Analytics), if you are using Wordpress you can use a plugin like WordFence to block any country from sing any content on your site.
