Wildcard values in Campaign Report

Good day!

I would just like to ask a question about a problem that I encountered today.

As I was looking at data for the account I was handling, I saw this....

q3_arlo_us_search_bing$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Acquisition --> All Traffic --> Source/Medium

Source/Medium = paid_search / CPC

Campaign = q3_arlo_us_search_bing

I was just wondering where did the $$$$$$$ came from?

Thanks for the help guys!

All the best,

Matt

Hey Matt,

Custom campaign parameters (utm) are GIGO - Garbage in Garbage out. Someone has set the utm params that way or has a campaign named that way and is using the bing utm auto param functionality.

Lastly, it's possible, but VERY unlikely someone has created a search and replace filter based on that campaign to add all the $$$$$$$$$$$. Smiley Happy

Hope it works!

I'll check if we are using the bing utm auto param...

Thanks Theo!

Best regards,
Matt

No worries Matt,

If I remember correctly ( I think my Bing certification expired Smiley Happy ) the tagging is at the AdGroup or Keyword level and that is super easy to check with the desktop editor. Otherwise look for a campaign with that name.
