What is language c?

Hello,

Looking at the languages of visitors, I have a considerable number with language "c".

This does not seem to correspond to a real language. What does it mean?

Thanks

According to the official ISO 639-1 list of approved html xhtml language codes c would be an invalid code, so either some one is using it for some other use than officially condoned by the W3C or they typed it in wrong.

See here for more info http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_language_codes.asp

Hi @markjl,

When this appears in Google Analytics reports, it's a misconfigured environment variable. You can mostly assume it is a bot... which, if it is, will have a 100%  bounce rate (or near about that).

Kind Regards,

James

Thanks for coming back.

It has more visitors than any other 'language' and yes the bounce rate is 100%

I followed this post to add a segment to filter out bots !!

Hi,

I have similar problem but in our case this traffic is providing ecommerce transactions as well.

Source - direct and Google CPC. Clicks for AdWords are ok but sessions are almost 8x higher. Transcations are only on direct traffic side.

Any idea what's going on?
