What is a hit in google analytics?

I observe that google analytics has an upper limit of 10 million "hits" before it stops being free. Then my question is what is a "hit"? Is it when an user logs into an app, then the whole user session is a "hit"? Or is when a user just clicks on a button , which results in a "hit"? I look forward to your answer.

Best Regards,

Hi @Cristian S,

A hit is an interaction that results in data being sent to Google Analytics. For example, pageviews, events, ecommerce tracking hits and social interaction hits. So, it is not the session but each time when you send data to Google Analytics.

I hope clarifies.
