Hey All,

Lets say there are three pages in a website -

A - Homepage

B - Article 1

C - Article 2

Page B and C has no direct link to each other. A is the only page that links to B and C.

Scenario  - User landed on Homepage, open Article 2 in new tab, and click through to Article 1.

When the user finish reading article 1, the user then clicks on the previously opened tab and reads article 2.

What will be the page flow look like?

Because in my Navigation Summary, if i select Article 1, there are pageviews in Article 2 which confuses the heck out of me.

Hi,

It doesn't matter if the user opens an internal page in the same tab, a new tab or a new window, as long as he is using the same browser the hits are tracked in a single session if they happen before the session times out (30 minutes of inactivity by default). The navigation summary report says that the user read article 2 after article 1, not the way how he went to article 2 from article 1. Hope this helps.
