Very high bounce rate for traffic from 'lm.facebook.com'

We are an ecommerce site based out of India. We are currently running online campaigns on Facebook with traffic source "FB".

In the acquisition reports, we are getting traffic from two sources - "FB" source "lm.facebook.com".

The source "lm.facebook.com" has a very high bounce rate 75%.

We need to investigate into this and understand if this data is accurate or whether it is a bug.

For 99% of all users from "lm.facebook.com" have days since last session of 0 days.

Is anyone else also facing this issue?

lm.facebook.com is a "Link Shim" and occurs when shared users links on a mobile browser or mobile app from groups, pm, comments, etc. Many of these clicks are accidental clicks, or just idle surfers. If your site does not perform well on mobile, a lot of these users may bail as well.

An extremely high bounce rate from these referrals is quite common.

Thanks for the response @Phillip B. I have a couple of queries related to this. Can you please help resolve them-

1. Are these clicks from Link shim only on shared content or could it be from marketing ads also?

2. We recently redesigned our site and spent a lot of effort to make it mobile friendly. How do we find the areas we need to improve our mobile site to improve the performance. For ex - What criteria does link shim evaluate upon?

You can start here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/ and Google's white paper https://think.storage.googleapis.com/docs/micromoments-guide-to-winning-shift-to-mobile-download.pdf

One thing I repeat to all my clients - mobile-friendly is technical.  A long landing page that fails to meet expectations on mobile is another.

You should be setting up ALL of your Facebook ads links using UTM variables - that eliminates the guesswork.  https://ga-dev-tools.appspot.com/campaign-url-builder/
