Users Exceeding Intranet Membership
I'm trying to identify how many of my members are using our company's private intranet. We have 247 members on our site but GA is reporting that we have 500+ users. My question is: how is GA defining user and can I adjust it to track based off of our specific login credentials?
Re: Users Exceeding Intranet Membership
You most likely are not able to use your login credentials to determine who is internal traffic and who is external traffic, but you can set up a segment, filter, or view to show your internal traffic by either including or excluding traffic based upon your IP address or range of addresses. Google is very strict about not being able to identify a specific person as that would be a PII violation. To answer your question on how does GA define a user it is Users are those visitors to your website that have initiated at least one session during the date range defined.
