Unusual spike in direct traffic to pages that shouldn't receive it
I am looking at the analytics pages for a media site and this last week we received an inordinate amount of traffic. Despite producing no content (we typically have about 40,000 pageviews in a week), we had about 160,000 this week).
When I looked into what pages were receiving this bump in traffic, a large number of pageviews were going not only to old, irrelevant articles, but also to staff pages that normally would have almost no traffic at all. What is really throwing me for a loop is the fact that almost all of this traffic is direct traffic and it would be very odd for these pages to get any direct traffic at all.

To make bad day worse, spend it wishing for the impossible
