UTM labeled traffic partly went to None/Direct

Hey there,

we got UTM labeled traffic from CPA networks, labeled following standard way:[&click_id=ccc]

Since Jan 16, more than 50% of incoming traffic from one of CPA networks (sessions, transactions) is not showing in appropriate source/medium, but instead it's shown in (Direct)/(None).    And we can't get why.

1. CPA network is  They say they haven't changed anything in redirecting mechanics that time.

2. We tried Views with filters, without filters, without filters including robots - no change.

3. We noticed part of traffic comes from Tor browsers, that may lock any tracking.  Eliminating this point, there still a huge percent not showing in source/medium.

4. We did minor changes in UTM lables, e.g. renamed "xxx" source to "xx" - no change.

Adwords/Analytics support said can't give any details on that.  Currently we have no idea where to look further.  Would appreciate any help on this!

Hey Alexander,

Sounds like one you will have to test. Use Chrome tag assistant and record exactly what happens. Usually this is a redirect issue where the params are not passing.

If you have GTM, you can also add in a classic GA tag and turn on GA debugger which will allow you to see the campaign info in the developer console.
