Trouble with utm tracking

Hello! I'm running into some tracking issues with Google Analytics UTM codes. If the UTM parameters are out of order, will the data still be tracked in GA? If so, where?

Here is the UTM tracking snippet I added to the end of the landing page URL:

?utm_source=nytimes.com&utm_campaign=SPRING&utm_medium=banner&utm_content=300x250

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @Alexandra M,

Order of UTM parameters does not matter as long as they are properly assigned and each parameter is seperated by '&' character.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the speedy reply! Then if I am trying to track traffic from the below URL+UTM, then I should be seeing results in GA in the Campaign section?

You're welcome. Smiley Happy

Yes, it should work. Just a little confusion, the link that you posted does not have the same URL for href & anchor text values and redirects me to washington.org. please be sure that you are using the correct URL.

Having a similar issue. A UTM tag was created by a client and campaign has ended. I was pulled into the conversation when the campaign/sources not showing up in GA (Acquisition > Campaigns > All Campaigns). From the looks of it, the correct URL+UTM was applied, but the directing URL is an unsecured http:// and the UTM tag created has some upper case terms. I don't think this would impact the backend tracking, but not 100%. Could use an assist to understand what I'm missing. UTM below:
