Dear Google Analytics Community,

Hoping that everyone of you had a good weekend.

I would like to know why when doing a Ad in facebook traffic shown in the google analytics is different to that of click shown in facebook ad report. Hence which number should i consider to be more accurate.

Your any assistance on the matter would be highly appreciated.

Kind regards

Sumit Gautam

Swearing is bad.

Seriously though, if you tag your FB campaign landing page URLs with UTM parameters, you'll be fine.

Ideally, you want links that look like so:

http://www.mysite.com/landingpage.html?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=yourCampaignN...

With this method, you will see FB campaign data under Acquisition > Campaigns

Hi, this is the same difference between Adwords clicks and sessions.

I swear I used to be able to see the custom tagged URLs from my Facebook Campaigns in Google Analytics and now I can't find them. The Analytics rep I just spoke to said GA doesn't provide this.  Can anyone tell me if this is a function in analytics that is discontinued?

We need better data from FB campaigns or we have to switch to another less biased analytics system. Big problem for Marketers who love and champion GA.
